Privacy Policy
Must be verified before launch
This policy is a launch-ready draft written in deliberately conditional language. Before publication it must be reviewed against the application’s actual data practices — including which processors are used, what is retained, and for how long — and amended so that every statement is accurate and verified.
This policy describes how Pupsona handles information in connection with the Pupsona mobile application and website (together, the “Service”). Where a practice depends on how a particular feature is implemented, that is stated rather than assumed.
1. Information you provide
You may provide information directly when you use the Service, such as a dog’s name, an optional breed, notes you choose to write, and photographs you select. You control what you enter.
If you contact support by email, we receive the contents of your message and your email address so that we can reply.
2. Photographs of dogs
The core feature of the Service takes a photograph you select and returns a generated profile. To do this, the selected image is transmitted from your device for processing.
The Service is intended for photographs of dogs. Please do not upload photographs of people.
3. How uploaded images may be processed
An uploaded image may be sent to one or more third-party processing providers in order to generate a profile. Where such providers are used, they act on instructions for the purpose of returning a result.
The precise retention, deletion, and model-training practices that apply to uploaded images depend on the providers and configuration used, and must be confirmed and stated explicitly here before launch. This draft does not assert that images are deleted immediately, that they are retained indefinitely, that they are used to train models, or that they are not — because those statements must be verified against the live implementation rather than assumed.
4. Device and usage information
When you use the Service, limited technical information may be processed so that it can function — for example an application-generated identifier used to apply usage limits, along with information ordinarily present in a network request such as an IP address and general device characteristics.
An application-generated identifier of this kind is created by the app itself. It is not an advertising identifier, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
5. Analytics
If analytics are used in the Service, they would be used to understand aggregate usage and improve the product. Where analytics are enabled, the provider and the categories of data collected should be identified in this section before launch. If no analytics are in use at the time of publication, that should be stated here plainly.
6. Advertising
The Service is not designed around advertising. If advertising is introduced in future, this policy will be updated in advance to describe what is shared with any advertising partner and what choices you have.
7. Purchases
If you buy an optional paid feature or subscription, the transaction is handled by the app store from which you obtained the application. Payment details are processed by the app store and are not received by Pupsona. The Service may receive a confirmation from the app store indicating whether a subscription is active, so that paid features can be unlocked.
8. Crash and diagnostic reports
Crash and performance diagnostics may be made available through the platform’s own developer tools, subject to the settings you choose on your device. These reports are used to identify and fix defects. Platform diagnostic sharing is controlled by you in your device settings.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, please contact us so that it can be addressed.
10. Data retention
Content you create in the app — such as saved profiles, notes, and photographs stored for your own use — is held on your device and remains under your control. Deleting that content in the app, or removing the application, removes it from your device.
Server-side retention periods must be confirmed and stated here before launch, including how long any operational records associated with an application-generated identifier are kept.
11. Data security
Data transmitted between the application and its backend is sent over encrypted connections. We take reasonable measures intended to protect information, while recognising that no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Your choices and requests
- Photo and camera permissions can be changed at any time in your device settings.
- Notification permissions can be changed at any time in your device settings.
- Content saved in the app can be deleted from within the app, or by removing the application.
- You can contact us with a question or request about your information at the address below.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. The specific rights available, and how requests are verified and fulfilled, should be described here before launch.
13. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties for functions such as hosting, application distribution, payment processing, and automated profile generation. Those providers handle data in accordance with their own terms and policies. The specific providers in use should be listed in this section before launch.
14. International processing
Information processed in connection with the Service may be handled in countries other than the one in which you live, and data protection laws in those countries may differ. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be identified in this section before launch.
15. Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated as the Service changes. When it is, the date at the top of this page will be revised, and material changes will be communicated through the Service where practical.
16. Contact
Questions about this policy or about your information can be sent to [email protected].
